To support the Radiology team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in providing and maintaining an excellent standard of high quality care for patients undergoing plain film radiographic examinations. Main duties of the job

To produce images of diagnostic quality that are correctly identified with regard to patient's name, side examined, date of examination etc., within the scope of specific protocols and policies. Be adequately trained in the safe and competent use of all appropriate imaging equipment prior to operating it. To be accountable to the supervising radiographer. Communicate effectively with other health care professionals to ensure appropriate patient care is given at all times. Be responsible for the welfare, comfort and dignity of patients in the radiology department. Always behave in a professional manner, prioritise your own workload and be accountable for your own actions. To ensure that the Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR2017) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R 2017) or superseding legislation are understood and adhered to. To report equipment faults to the supervising radiographer and take appropriate action. Use the radiology computer systems in accordance with the Data Protection Act and ensure accuracy of data input. Ensure that all departmental and Trust policies are understood and followed. Attend departmental meetings. Participate in the department quality assurance programmes. To set and maintain high standards of appearance and professional attitudes. To adhere to the Trust uniform policy. Maintain good departmental hygiene and equipment cleanliness. To foster good working relationships and communication between all staff, both inside and outside the department and to relate to patients and visitors with sensitivity and empathy. To work across both Hillingdon and Mount Vernon sites. Person Specification

Fdsc in Radiography Knowledge of current radiation regulations, IR(ME)R 2017, IRR17 A good working knowledge of radiographic techniques Comprehensive training with high level of competence in basic techniques Ability to undertake specific plain film general radiography examinations Previous radiography experience as a student radiographer or AP Evidence of CPD Trained in IV cannulation Disclosure and Barring Service Check
