Reporting to the EMEA Shared Service Centre Tax and Treasury Director and working closely with the Sr. Director, International Tax, the purpose of this function is to manage the statutory, insurance and tax obligations of Europe by managing the Tax and Statutory Accounting (TSA) Leads in the region. This role successfully directs a decentralised team over 9 countries and balances multiple / changing priorities to meet demanding deadlines with internal and external contracts. This position is also responsible for developing strong working relationships and maintaining a high degree of customer service with our business partners. This role provides TSA oversight to approx. 30 legal entities in 20 European countries, with 10 Direct reports. This position acts as liaison between Corporate Tax, Corporate Insurance, Regional SSC and outsourced service providers ensuring that all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles and standards. In addition to the above, this function also directly manages the statutory, tax and insurance responsibilities for the group in which the role is located. Responsibilities:

Manage and develop the TSA organisation in Europe; hiring new employees, objective setting, development of employees and PMP reviews. Manage timely completion and filing of all statutory reporting requirements and tax returns in Europe via the Group Lead TSA’s (for their own country returns) and for Group Member countries to ensure external parties provide timely and proper support in the statutory reporting (RSM) requirements and tax returns (EY) as contracted. Directly responsible for preparation of local statutory accounts, preparation of detailed analysis for local Corporate Tax return. Manage the Transfer pricing position via the Group Lead TSA’s for all applicable European entities. Assist Regional Tax Director in compiling responses related to “tax provision” work and collect responses from TSA Leads. Assist Regional Tax Director in compiling responses to governments in case of audits with the help of the TSA Leads. Assist Regional Tax Director in managing local Transfer Pricing reports detailing intercompany reporting via the Group Lead TSA’s. Manage the Regional Insurance function for Europe via the Group Lead TSA’s providing all necessary information to Corporate Insurance if and when required and act as liaison with Corporate Insurance on Corporate Insurance matters for Europe. Handling queries and matters raised by external and internal auditors, as well as by the tax authorities. Including responsibility for Tax entries being accurate at month and year end. Experience you’ll bring:

Qualified Accountant/Recognised Financial Qualification with extensive experience of Statutory reporting. Experience of leading and developing people in a finance department is a must. Knowledge of financial systems (ideally SAP), organization and data source necessary to answer full range of financial statement question. Ability to interpret and apply the statutory and tax compliance requirements in home country and other multiple jurisdictions. Behaviors you’ll need:

Excellent communication skills and establish trusted relationships with the Regional SSC, Corporate Tax, Insurance, Lead TSA’s, appropriate statutory and tax external companies. Must be able to manage and prioritize the work of multiple country reporting deadlines. Demonstrated ability to judge organisational dynamics (who needs to be informed, who had vested interests, which external parties should be involved).
