Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing stock levels, optimising stock control processes, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods within the organisation. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to support decision-making in inventory management. Responsibilities Build and maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers. Have a thorough understanding of procurement administration duties and product maintenance. Develop a thorough understanding of the forecast system and available reports. Analyse stocks across all depots to assist the Buyers with ensuring stock availability, and stock levels are adequately maintained accordingly. Work closely with Transport and the Buyers to successfully organise and schedule transfers of goods between depots to prevent stock outs. Analyse sales data to make stocking recommendations to other areas of the business so that out of area deliveries are kept to a minimum. Gain an understanding of the processes involved with importing products. Expedite outstanding orders and part received orders, both for goods purchased within the UK or imports. Work with all departments to ensure supplier deliveries are in line with company procedures and the booking in system is utilised. Develop strong relationships with depots by regular communication and depot visits to assess stocks, including assisting with depot stock takes across the company where required. Implement and improve processes and procedures. Compile daily reports and address stock discrepancies where required. Perform random checks and audits. Adapt to changes required in relation to business needs. Required Skills Customer service skills to interact with both internal and external stakeholders. Inventory management skills to track shipments, oversee inventory audits and maintain reports of purchases and pricing. Competent IT skills in all basic Microsoft applications including Excel. In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. Communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively. Math skills to perform calculations and analysis. Detail-oriented skills to ensure accuracy and quality. Ability to be quick thinking and make decisions. Supply Chain experience.
