We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with experience in microfluidics, fluorescence and label-free microscopy, applied to organoid cultures and oncology cellular biology to join the Oncology Translational Research team within GSK Oncology TA. The successful candidate will work as part of a team that will develop and implement cutting-edge cellular, genomic and molecular techniques with a multimodality analytic approach, plus produce data that will inform machine learning models to improve cancer patient risk stratification as well as to predict future targeted and/or immuno-therapy susceptibilities. In this role you will Set up organoid-on-a-chip platforms, combining different cell types (immune cells/ fibroblasts/tumor cells/endothelial cells) Develop a microfluidic system for modelling immune cell action and drug penetration into 3D organoid models Develop protocols for imaging and single-cell analysis Collect and report data to the lab head Execute and deliver the project Basic Qualifications We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: MSc in Cell Biology/Oncology/Biotechnology/ Engineering Bioengineering Experience in 3D organ-on-a-chip system and in 3D cell culture techniques (patient-derived organoids) Experience in microfluidic and chip devices Ability to communicate with team members from different backgrounds by training/discipline, as well as senior members of the GSK stakeholders/research partner units Ability to deliver high quality, consistent results in a timely fashion with a positive can-do and result oriented attitude Preferred Qualifications Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply: PhD in Cell Biology/Oncology or Bioengineering Laboratory automation experience Experience with cancer immunology Experience in wide-field imaging and/or confocal microscopy Closing Date for Applications – Friday 24th of January 2025 (COB) Please take a copy of the Job Description, as this will not be available post closure of the advert.
