Job Summary The Investment Analyst will be twofold in that it will; Asset Management & Investor Reporting: Assist in the management, production and execution of investor, ExCo and board reporting materials Investment Opportunities: Assist with workstreams across debt and equity structuring and origination for existing and new investments across the UK and EEA, for VIRTUS’ portfolio. Responsibilities include developing business cases that factor in risks and dependencies, financial modelling, and supporting investor communications The Investment Analyst will be a key member of the deal team once the opportunity has been identified and will work very closely with the Business Development team to take it from inception to deal close, and then closely with all relevant VIRTUS departments and external advisors to ensure successful execution Duties and Responsibilities The primary focus of the role includes is to support the Corporate Finance Director in the following: Asset Management & Investor Reporting: Support with Investor reporting activities regarding the preparation and presentation of all materials (investment memos, presentations Board packs & approval documentation etc) for the Executive Committee and/or Board of Directors Work closely with the Business Development, sales, construction, and power teams to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute potential investment opportunities, including front-end due diligence, feasibility studies, transaction structuring, financial analysis, regulatory compliance safety/sustainability, and securing internal approvals in connection with the expansion of the VIRTUS business in the UK and Europe. Investment Opportunities: Build financial models for M&A and investment opportunities, focusing on debt structuring (LBOs, project finance) and equity returns analysis. Create investment committee presentations with financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction insights. Assist with due diligence workstreams and prepare reports for the Executive Committee and Board. Develop and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders (investors, banks, advisers, lawyers etc.) Support the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities. Keep updated on market trends and present findings to senior management. Any other reasonable requests made by your line manager. What success looks like in 12 months’ time: Asset Management & Investor Reporting: Tracking progress across various workstreams in projects you are primarily responsible for and reporting them upwards Meet the expectations of business stakeholders through the timely delivery of high-quality analysis for presentation in obtaining satisfactory buy-in to critical decisions Build effective internal and external relationships to drive successful outcomes Investment Opportunities: Be a critical team member in delivering VIRTUS’s desired investment structures in contribution to the business's overall goals Implement best practices for investment processes, aligning all stakeholders. Manage projects with multiple workstreams assisting due diligence and financing, structuring and overall execution of transactions while working closely with external legal, tax and accounting teams Person Specification Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Experience: Investment banking, M&A, or transaction services background with experience in corporate finance, advanced financial modelling, and deal structuring. Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills with a deep understanding of financial markets and investment products. Integrity And Ethics: Adherence to high ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory requirements Character: Friendly manner with a positive can-do attitude who is ready to embrace multiple new workstreams, and new investment learnings and be an influential member of the wider deal and finance team In line with VIRTUS’ Vetting Policy, the successful applicant must be willing to undergo a BS7858 screening process.
