This role sits within the Investment Department, where they run a number of investment funds across equity and debt. Our client is looking to add an additional Investment Manager to the team, to operate at the heart of their debt investment programme, providing vital scale-up finance to the UK’s most promising creative businesses. This is a unique opportunity for an early career investment professional to become part of an experienced high performing team operating at the heart of investing in UK creative talent and partnering with the Fund’s regional programme team in the North East. Remit of the Investment Manager – SME Debt Fund – NE role From day one, you will be involved and expected to contribute to all the phases of managing investments, ideally starting to take the lead independently in a short timeframe. Responsibilities of the Investment Manager – SME Debt Fund – NE role Origination Find and champion new investment propositions from own network Research investment leads via sales and marketing function Screening target companies Progressing full due-diligence on investment propositions Presenting investment proposition to Credit Committee for approval Deal Execution (negotiation, legal, completion) Internal matters Intra-department collaborations Marketing Fundraising activities Operations Required Skills and Experience of the Investment Manager – SME Debt Fund – NE role: The ideal candidate will have some form of finance/accounting training, making him/her capable of critically assessing financial accounts, and intimately familiar with financial modelling. A background in investment management would be a plus. A genuine interest in early-stage investing and the creative industries is greatly valued.
