This role is responsible for developing and delivering a professional financial accounting and reporting service for various operational assets and development projects across Imperial’s White City and Old Oak real estate portfolio. What you would be doing

You will be responsible for delivering accounting and reporting services for operational assets and development projects across Imperial’s White City and Old Oak real estate portfolio. Key responsibilities include: Operate month-end processes, including accounting journals and working with stakeholders to agree accruals and deferrals Prepare monthly management accounts, dashboards, KPIs and variance analysis, flagging emerging issues for escalation Prepare the annual financial accounts for Imperial’s real estate focussed subsidiary companies including Imperial College ThinkSpace Ltd, One Portal Way Ltd and Imperial College Developments Ltd Support regular valuation activity across the entire portfolio Maintain correct lease accounting Prepare complete, evidence-based balance sheet reconciliations Liaise with Finance colleagues to ensure the accuracy of the reporting on capital expenditure related to the development of new assets Work with internal property managers and external agents to review income, expenditure and supporting documentation around cash reconciliations for rental income and asset expenditure Collaborate with external project managers to ensure accurate reporting against project budgets Review the accounting and reporting processes to identify ways of improving their efficiency, including increased automation where this is cost effective Undertake ad hoc analysis as required to support the Senior Finance Business Partner in their work across Imperial’s White City and Old Oak developments What we are looking for

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Post qualification experience producing statutory financial accounts in an organisation of equivalent size and complexity essential Experience of management and financial accounting essential Experience of delivering accounting services for operational real estate assets and development projects, in a corporate or higher education/not for profit environment desirable Experience of preparing a complete set of financial accounts for an entity and managing an external audit process desirable Experience of reconciliations and investigating and resolving inaccuracies and errors in financial reporting essential Experience of working with operational/development teams to produce budgets and forecasts essential Experience of producing regular financial management packs and presenting information to senior stakeholders essential Property related accounting standards, including acquisitions and disposals, lease accounting essential Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build relationships and engage with staff outside of Finance to deliver financial support to their areas essential Strong personal planning, time management and organisational skills essential Resilient and able to work under pressure to meet changing business demands essential Highly competent with ICT and a proven ability to learn new systems quickly essential Effective analytical and problem-solving skills essential Confident collaborator and team player to build relationships with colleagues from across the organisation essential What we can offer you
