Your new company This multi-academy trust has experienced an exciting period of growth and development over the last 18 months and, due to the plans for this growth to continue for the coming years, they are keen to ensure the right individuals are appointed to ensure the success of this growth. The latest vacancy they are looking to recruit on a permanent basis is to join their thriving IT team as an IT Field Engineer, working closely with the wider IT team and the team of field engineers. The trust has an excellent reputation across both Greater Manchester and the North West, known for the values which are at the core of everything they do, as well as the exciting opportunities available to individuals joining the organisation. Having recruited a number of roles into the IT team over the last 12 months, I have continuously received positive feedback from individuals commenting on the welcoming nature of the organisation, as well as the thriving culture present across the business. Your new role Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support to several schools, working closely with staff, students and the wider IT team to also ensure the successful delivery of IT projects. You will become an integral part of the team, working with 2 fellow field IT Engineers and the wider IT team to ensure a high level of support is provided at all times, therefore contributing to the overall success and high performance of the trust. On a daily basis, this will involve attending schools to assist with both hardware and software support, completing installations and upgrades, building of new hardware, ordering of IT consumables and supporting with faults and service requests. In addition, you will implement back up, virus protection and security policies, update inventories and work closely with external suppliers. As a trust, they are continuously both implementing and upgrading new technologies, and you will therefore support the delivery of these projects, allowing you to further develop your own skills and knowledge. What you'll need to succeed In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT support experience having worked in a hands-on IT role supporting both hardware and software and ideally having experience in the education sector. You will have strong communication and customer service skills, as you will be working in a face-to-face environment with end users. The passion and dedication to provide an excellent level of service, ensuring the highest level of technical support is provided is also essential, as well as ideally looking for a role where you can progress and further develop. What you'll get in return In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £31,000 and £34,000 dependent on experience, as well as receiving an excellent benefits package. These benefits include a local government pension scheme, 28 days holiday plus bank, free parking, free access to an on-site gym and access to trust wide benefits. As this is a growing multi-academy trust, you will also have the opportunity to further develop your career, as you learn about new systems and technologies.
