Hybrid Engineer
to join our dynamic and growing team in Huddersfield. This role is heavily focused on IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on networking, system integration, and VoIP telephony solutions. The Role Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and support of IT and unified communication systems. Key responsibilities include: Conducting detailed site surveys to assess IT infrastructure requirements. Managing and supporting IT infrastructure components, including network switches, firewalls, Windows servers, virtualization platforms, and endpoint devices. Designing and implementing network solutions, including VLAN configuration, routing, and security policies. Diagnosing and resolving issues related to IT systems, network connectivity, and hosted telephony platforms. Installing, programming, and integrating VoIP solutions such as 3CX, MS Teams, and 8x8. Collaborating with clients to ensure seamless system integration and providing end-user training on IT and communication platforms. Planning and executing IT projects, such as infrastructure upgrades or cloud migrations. Producing clear and accurate documentation and reports for both internal and client use. Liaising with other technical teams to ensure holistic project delivery. The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a forward-thinking IT professional with robust technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive experience in IT system deployment and maintenance, including hands-on configuration of switches, firewalls, and Windows-based servers. In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs. Experience in VoIP telephony systems, particularly in integrating platforms like MS Teams and 3CX within broader IT networks. Proficiency in virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V. Experience in cloud-based solutions, including Microsoft 365 and hosted telephony systems. Skills in troubleshooting and resolving issues within LAN/WAN environments. Familiarity with IT security practices, including firewall management, endpoint protection, and secure remote access. A track record of successfully managing and delivering IT projects to tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
