System Engineering & Technicians Life on the team Here at Computacenter, the Technical Resource Group (TRG) specialises in delivering intermediate to advanced desktop installation, configuration, support, and troubleshooting services. Additionally, we provide basic Wintel installation, configuration, administration, and break-fix solutions. In this role, you’ll deliver hands-on technical IT support to one of our key customers, who operate across multiple UK sites. If you have a passion for IT, along with some knowledge of desktop/laptop technologies and Windows operating systems, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! What you’ll do As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining IT services and equipment within your assigned Hub and surrounding spokes. Your key responsibilities will include: Queue Ticket Management: Efficiently manage and update tickets assigned to your Hub, ensuring service levels are maintained as per the contract. Hub Stock Management: Oversee asset management, including scanning items in and out of locations, in accordance with contractual obligations. Disposal Management: Effectively manage the disposal of equipment through your Hub, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Hardware Repairs: Triage and perform hardware repairs on in-warranty equipment, liaising with vendors for parts and returns as needed. Locker Replenishments: Replenish lockers with necessary equipment as per contractual agreements. Service Improvement: Identify and highlight potential service issues or improvements to your Team Leader. What you’ll need Security Clearance: Must have or be able to obtain SC clearance. Nationality: Must be a UK National (or dual national) with a UK passport. Availability: Must join the out-of-hours (OOH) rota and standby. Driving Licence: Must have a full, clean driving licence. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a PC field service or PC field workshop environment. Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing, troubleshooting, supporting, and repairing hardware, including complex laptop break/fix repairs. Certifications: Accredited or willing to undergo training for HP and Dell desktop and laptop support. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
