We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our I.T. team in the position of

I.T. Field Engineer . The IT Field Engineer will provide onsite and remote IT support to users based in Forterra factory and office locations in England. The position will support end user computers, phones, networking and business software. The IT Field Engineer will also coordinate vendors and small projects. Compliance with company Safety and IT policies and working closely with the wider Forterra IT team to deliver excellent end user experience are required. This role is working as part of an IT team of 15 including a Service Desk based at Northampton Head Office. We support around 1000 employees across 15 locations. The IT Field Engineer will be based in the Midlands at one of our sites and will be the main onsite IT resource for Measham, Desford, Hams Hall and other Production sites. Your duties would include but not limited to the following:

End user support – support the end user equipment and IT infrastructure in Forterra sites, responding to tickets from the Service Desk and direct requests from users. Understanding of business need and ability to work with all levels of employee. Safety and IT policy compliance. Adhere to Forterra Health & Safety Policy and IT Policy, ensuring process is followed and our service desk tool is used correctly. Be aware of our need to be ISO27001 compliant and follow ITIL standards. Awareness of Cyber security and best practice. Device management. Build new computers for end users, maintain hardware stock and perform hardware repairs. Ensure IT Assets are recorded accurately in the Asset Management system, recover IT equipment from leavers. Service requests. Manage change requests/small projects from users and site management. Work with others in the IT team or vendors as required on larger projects. Onsite coordination with vendor staff. Self management. The IT Field Engineer will maintain their own schedule booking in site visits as needed, while responding flexibly to urgent support incidents. About You

Good customer service and ability to work and communicate with a range of users - with varying technical ability and seniority. Experience supporting Windows computers, Office 365, Teams, Active Directory, DHCP and networking. Able to manage small projects and user requests, escalating as needed to others. Understanding of WAN/LAN networking, managed switches, VLANs, wifi. Able to support IP phones, Android, video conferencing and display equipment. Ability to follow procedures and use a service management tool. Understanding of Manufacturing industry and Operational Technology beneficial. Due to the remote location of our sites, a full driving licence is required. It’s expected the IT Field Engineer is Professional; technically skilled in Windows OS and software support; is able to work independently or with a wider team; is able to manage their time and workload effectively. Desirable: ITIL Foundation, Microsoft or Cisco certifications. What We Can Offer You
