Senior Infrastructure Engineer

to join Centrica's Infrastructure Engineering team to drive innovation with Azure and AWS cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Terraform, and will be proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python. Additionally, expertise in Microsoft Defender and Kusto Query Language (KQL) is highly desirable. Location:

Home-based with occasional travel to Windsor Key Responsibilities: Design and manage scalable, secure infrastructure on Azure and AWS. Develop automation scripts using Puppet, Terraform, PowerShell, and DSC. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for high availability. Implement security best practices and compliance standards. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues. Maintain documentation and generate performance reports using KQL. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams. Enhance Active Directory functionality and security. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Azure and AWS Experience with Puppet and Terraform Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell or Python Understanding of networking, security, and database management in cloud environments Expertise in Microsoft Defender and KQL Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux server management Experience with Microsoft Exchange and DFS Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Team-oriented mindset Senior Responsibilities: Mentor team members Contribute to cross-team initiatives Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable Benefits: Employee Energy Allowance at 15% of the government price cap Pension scheme and healthcare plan 25 days holiday plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days Flexible benefits including technology vouchers, an electric car lease scheme, and travel insurance Join Centrica and help shape the future of energy and sustainability.
