The Role: The role of Infrastructure Engineer is to support the design, build and maintenance of IT infrastructure at key sites across Saab UK. Additionally, the infrastructure systems engineer may also support and develop specific platforms and will concentrate on

managing and maintaining the platforms. Other requirements may involve becoming involved in specific projects that require IT assistance across the UK Group of Companies. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and network devices.

Manage and monitor system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Implement and maintain security measures to protect our IT infrastructure from threats.

Develop and maintain documentation for all IT infrastructure systems.

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.

Provide support to IT change projects across Saab UK

Supporting management of the UK Network Infrastructure

Managing the infrastructure incident support queue

Required Skills and Experience: Strong understanding of server hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and storage systems.

Experience with network protocols and security best practices.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills: Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Industry certifications (CCNA, MCSE, VCP).

Scripting experience (Powershell)
