Questar III BOCES announces a vacancy for a full-time (12-month schedule) Information Technology (IT) Manager position based out of our Central Office in Castleton, NY. This position directs and manages information technology (IT) helpdesk staff and oversees and coordinates the helpdesk and support operations. This position will also manage school district IT-related services, district customer relations, and district-based IT staff.

The IT manager ensures responsiveness and timely communications. Coordinates proper scheduling, coverage, and assignment of trouble tickets. Supports end users and ensures customer satisfaction; user account creation and maintenance; remote online support; computer system and software maintenance and repair; assists with computer equipment selection, purchasing, and installation; troubleshoots and resolves computing issues; assigns, escalates, and follows-up on trouble tickets. Proactively communicate alerts, notices, and announcements to the appropriate parties. Creates and delivers technical training to staff, users, and district users.

The position requires strong organizational, customer service and communication skills, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage vendors, and advanced knowledge of helpdesk management solutions. K-12 school technology and work experience is a plus. The incumbent will do other IT-related work as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and EITHER:

A)

Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field and two years of work experience involving responsibility for the maintenance, configuration, or installation of computer hardware and software in LAN and WAN-based environments;

B)

Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees, with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field and four years of work experience involving responsibility for the maintenance, configuration, or installation of computer hardware and software in LAN and WAN-based environments;

C)

Six years of work experience involving responsibility for the maintenance, configuration, or installation of computer hardware and software in LAN and WAN-based environments.

Estimated Salary Range: $76,500 – $89,000 (commensurate with experience)
