IT Manager Job Spec Austin Elliot is a dynamic and leading provider of digital transformation solutions in the defence and security sector. We deliver solutions across several large-scale high priority digital transformation programs, ensuring availability and effective use of digital information technology through people. As a fast-growing business, our operations department is looking to expand its team and are seeking a confident, passionate IT Manager, with robust digital skills and experience in IT & operating systems and network administration. The ideal candidate will be confident in troubleshooting, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have the drive to progress, over time, into a more Information Security focused role. AE has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001. Any experience in either of these credentials would be advantageous, however, this is not a requirement.

Responsibilities: Manage, maintain and enhance the technologies used by all staff. Provide support to the business on any IT related products and drive the renewal of existing certification and licenses. Administer, monitor and resolve any faults in our Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online/On-Prem, SharePoint, Teams, and Intune. Support AE’s IT infrastructure & cyber security, ensuring our future needs are met. Assist the company’s IT developmental projects, providing advice and recommendations to improve system performance and reliability. Create and maintain scripts for provisioning, user management, and reporting. Set up and maintain devices, and help with training as appropriate. Develop / Draft IT related and Information Security related artefacts in support of AE’s ongoing certifications and accreditations. Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring data integrity and security. Other ad-hoc technical and commercial activities required to support the wider team.

Skills/Experience: Experience in at least an IT Administration or a related role. Proven experience with systems, network administration, user support, and Microsoft O365. Be a team player, approachable, and helpful. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and confidently prioritize. Experience of installing and managing IT hardware/software. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Good time-management skills and attention to detail. Note: The successful candidate would be required to gain appropriate security clearance in due course.
