Due to internal promotion within the team, an opportunity has arisen to join the IT Infrastructure team as an IT Officer in the Network and Telecoms Team. The team is responsible for delivering and maintaining a wide range of network and telephony technologies critical to the running of the Trust and delivery of patient care. These include a large Cisco campus network, over 30 remote sites, an enterprise scale Cisco firewall estate, Microsoft Teams, and Unify IP and DECT telephony systems. Interview date:

As an IT professional, you will work within the Network and Telecoms team and the wider IT Infrastructure department. This will predominantly involve End User Computing and Server support, but you will also work with specialist IT teams supporting specific areas of the Trust. The successful applicant will work with others in the Network and Telecoms team providing support for the Trust Network, Teams Collaboration, and Telephone systems. Working within a high-performing team, you will be required to work closely with third-party and in-house subject matter experts to provide 2nd & 3rd line network and telecoms support. Job responsibilities
To operationally provide first and second line support of the Trust's complex network and telephony infrastructure and systems. To participate in the planning, design, specification, procurement, implementation, and management of network and telephony infrastructure to support data, voice telephony, and video. To proactively manage the network to ensure that agreed service levels are met, using appropriate tools and utilities including Cisco Prime Infrastructure and WhatsUp Gold. To code, itemise, and ratify external invoices to a value in excess of £500,000 per annum. To assist in managing contracts with third-party vendors. To provide first and second line support services to users of the data network, including voice and video across the Trust, in order to maximise the availability and functionality of networked technology to end users. To install, configure, maintain, and upgrade a wide range of network, telephone, and video hardware and software. The post holder may also be required to participate in a rota for the provision of out of hours support and must be capable of diagnosing complex problems without reference to documentation and colleagues. Qualifications & Education
Educated to degree level in an IT-related subject or significant experience in an IT Network Support role. CCNA or equivalent certification. Knowledge & Experience
Excellent Networking skills, particularly with Cisco products. Practical knowledge of VoIP. Experience in managing and practical knowledge of Analogue, IP, and virtual number routing. In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Grade IP Telephony Systems. Experience and management of Patient Appointment Reminder systems. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, predominantly TCP/IP. Knowledge of IP Telephony and Voice Systems. Knowledge of the ITIL Service Delivery Model. Supervisory experience. Knowledge of Unify telephony systems, both VoIP and analogue. Knowledge of Netcall management cycle systems. Experience in managing and practical knowledge of enterprise scale communication systems in a 24/7/365 environment. Experience supporting display screen and Microsoft Teams video systems. Skills & Abilities
