An exciting opportunity exists to join an industry leading PropTech company based in South Wales, for a talented and enthusiastic IT Operations Manager to join their growing IT and Development team. The Role They are looking for a talented and enthusiastic IT Operations Manager to join their growing IT team in which you will be given exposure to new and exciting technologies and the opportunity for continual development and learning. This is an exciting role in developing systems to support cutting edge technology within the sphere of legal conveyancing systems. Among your key responsibilities will be: Lead and manage a growing team of engineers and DevOps specialists to design, build, and maintain scalable SaaS infrastructure on AWS. Drive the technical strategy to scale the platform as user demand grows, making informed decisions on infrastructure, performance optimisations, and system design. Collaborate with senior leadership, sales, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with commercial goals. Commercially minded supporting onboarding of new clients with contractual negotiations. Take ownership of the group's entire AWS infrastructure. Optimise AWS costs by implementing best practices for cloud cost management, monitoring resource usage, and ensuring efficient cloud architecture. Ensure compliance and security standards are met across the infrastructure, adhering to best practices in data protection and cloud security, in line with Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001. Mentor and guide the technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and accountability. Analyse performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve platform performance, stability, and cost-efficiency. Engage with stakeholders (internal and external) to communicate technical decisions, strategies, and roadmaps clearly and effectively, ensuring buy-in from both technical and non-technical teams. Identify opportunities for process improvements across the business and drive their implementation across teams. Manage own work allocation, productivity, and quality of work with minimum supervision. The Individual The ideal candidate will have demonstrable values and ethics that mirror the companies own culture values and to be successful in the recruitment process you will need to evidence at least 5 years experience of the following in your CV: Managing technical support and DevOps engineers, with a focus on scaling SaaS platforms. Extensive experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, EFS, Lambda, ECS, and CloudFormation or similar service. Using Linux based technologies. Proven track record of scaling SaaS platforms to support growth in user base, data, and transaction volumes. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API development, and serverless technologies. Commercially minded with the ability to align technical decisions with business objectives and ROI. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong knowledge of tools such as Jira and Confluence. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions rapidly. Strong leadership, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
