Negotiable We are seeking an experienced Service Designer with a strong background in Telecommunications and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) solutions for a 6-month contract based in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for designing end-to-end services that enhance the implementation and management of SIEM solutions, ensuring they align with the needs of the business and its customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop secure, efficient, and scalable services that improve threat detection, security management, and compliance within the telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop seamless, end-to-end services for the implementation and operation of SIEM solutions within the telecommunications sector. Collaborate with security experts, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure that SIEM services meet technical, security, and customer requirements. Map current service landscapes, identifying key areas of improvement to optimize SIEM-related services, workflows, and touchpoints. Lead and facilitate workshops, design sprints, and co-creation sessions with stakeholders to gather insights and define service design strategies. Create service blueprints, user journey maps, and process flows to document the service life cycle for SIEM implementation, highlighting key interactions, roles, and dependencies. Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure SIEM services are intuitive, effective, and aligned with both security protocols and customer needs. Develop strategies to improve security operations, threat detection, and incident response times through well-designed service processes. Present insights, design recommendations, and service blueprints to stakeholders and senior management, aligning them with business objectives. Support the transition and implementation of service designs by working closely with security teams and technical stakeholders. Ensure that all services comply with industry regulations, data protection laws, and best practices related to cybersecurity in telecom.

Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Service Designer, particularly within the telecommunications sector or in delivering SIEM/cybersecurity solutions. Strong knowledge of service design methodologies, including journey mapping, service blueprints, prototyping, and user-centered design practices. Understanding of SIEM platforms and tools (eg, Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, or similar), and their role in telecom security operations. Ability to design services that meet both the operational needs of security teams and the strategic goals of the business. Experience in facilitating workshops and design sprints, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Deep understanding of user research methods, testing, and validation to ensure service solutions are effective, secure, and user-friendly.
