IT Support Engineer, Kent c£30-£35k + Bens DOE Fantastic new opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join this global logistics service provider at their offices Kent. At an exciting time in the companies growth, this is a stand alone position reporting into the UK / EU IT Infrastructure and will take responsibility for a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to IT tickets, the IT network, servers, PC’s, security and backups across the UK / EU. It’s very much a hands-on role where you will be performing IT administration, network configuration, troubleshooting and responding to IT tickets. You’ll be deploying, monitoring, maintaining, developing, upgrading and supporting the entire IT infrastructure and network. Configuring / decommissioning hardware (PC’s, laptops, servers, printers, door security systems, etc), creating and disabling users in Office 365 and Active Directory, server management including patching, backups, certificate management, storage management, etc, creation / decommissioning of simple SharePoint sites, configure and troubleshoot telecoms e.g. phones ISP connections, mobile devises, etc whilst assisting in the implementation of all IT policies and procedures. There will also be periodic project work to be involved with including an office move to a new site also in Kent. Some travel in south east will be required so an unrestricted driving license is essential. The successful candidate will have performed a similar relatively autonomous role for at least 3-5 years professionally and will also have an excellent, positive and proactive attitude. You will have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Technology (Azure, VM provisioning, Microsoft 365, AD Connect, etc), PowerShell, Windows Servers, Exchange 365, PDQ similar, Network Maintenance ( VPN configuration and management, router configuration, etc), configuration of WiFi AP’s, switches, routers, Internet Security, Domain Controllers and Active Directory configuration, etc. You have effective diagnostic, fault finding and monitoring skills as well as strong planning / organisational ability, solid technical and user documentation creation, excellent communication skills and flexibility to work outside of normal hours if required due to business or specific project needs. Any knowledge or experience of Cisco Meraki, SQL Server, Mimecast, Dell hardware, Enterprise backup (Veeam / Arcserve), VMWare vSphere. Microsoft Server 2019 would be helpful. Experience working in a shipping / freight / similar logistics capacity is advantageous. Sound interesting? Would you like to know more?
