A fantastic opportunity has arisen working for my client who are based in Daventry; they are a manufacturing business looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be delivering comprehensive 1st and 2nd line IT support to a growing SME with a user base of 60+, emphasizing adherence to best practices and a commitment to excellent customer service. Responsibilities: Act as the initial point of contact for 1st line IT support, addressing general inquiries and issues promptly. Manage overall IT systems operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and services. Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems, ensuring timely resolution. Replace or repair damaged computer and network components as needed. Uphold the security of client and server computers through the implementation of security and maintenance systems. Provide support to staff in utilizing IT services and systems, fostering positive professional relationships. Work under the guidance of the IT Manager and utilize IT service desk software for efficient operations. Collaborate with existing and potential vendors to coordinate service delivery within SLAs/Contracts. Regularly update and maintain technical documentation, including annual inventory checks. Conduct testing of new hardware and software solutions before full-scale deployment. Deliver training to users on the operation of IT systems and software as necessary. Skills: The IT infrastructure primarily relies on PC-based systems running Windows 10 within an Azure/AD hybrid framework. Responsibilities extend to managing Hyper-V based servers in a mixed cloud/site environment, supporting both portable and fixed workstations. Additionally, provide support for VoIP telecoms, mobile devices, and printers. Given the diverse user base spanning in-house and mobile individuals across the UK and beyond, proficiency in remote systems and telecoms is crucial.
