The IT Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing technical operations within the IT department for the UK team, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. This role involves leading the UK based technical teams and driving key IT initiatives in the region, working closely with the Senior IT Infrastructure Lead, Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer(s) and the IT Director. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Team Leadership:

Manage the IT Infrastructure and Support Engineer and IT Support Technician in the UK, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Operational Oversight:

Oversee daily technical operations for the UK, ensuring system stability, high availability, and security across all IT systems within the region. Strategic Project Leadership:

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives. Incident and Problem Management:

Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents. Coordinate rapid resolution of critical infrastructure failures and ensure root cause analysis is performed to prevent future occurrences. Security and Compliance:

Ensure that all IT operations adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials. Drive the implementation of cybersecurity measures, risk assessments, and regular audits to maintain a secure IT environment. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

Own the development and execution of disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies. Oversee failover testing and ensure that the organisation can maintain operations during emergencies. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

Build and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure IT services meet the needs of the business. Budget and Financial Oversight:

Assist the Director of IT in the preparation and management of the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising service quality. Monitor expenditures, approve purchasing requests, and find opportunities to optimize operational costs. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within IT operations and infrastructure. Stay updated on emerging technologies and assess how they can be leveraged to enhance efficiency, performance, and security. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Leadership and Management:

Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams. Ability to motivate and guide teams through complex technical challenges and evolving business needs. Technical Expertise:

Strong technical background in IT infrastructure management, including network design, systems administration, and cloud platforms (Azure). Expertise in cybersecurity and risk management practices. Project Management:

Demonstrated ability to oversee large-scale IT projects, manage resources, and deliver results on time and within budget. Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Waterfall is a plus. Security and Compliance:

Deep understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials. Ability to implement security protocols and manage compliance with industry regulations. Problem-Solving and Incident Management:

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address high priority incidents and ensure quick, effective resolution. Experience with ITIL or similar frameworks is desirable. Communication Skills:

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Financial Acumen:

Experience managing IT budgets and optimizing costs. Strong ability to negotiate vendor contracts and identify opportunities for cost savings. Innovation:

Passion for emerging technologies and continuous improvement. Ability to lead the introduction of new technologies and innovative processes to improve operational performance. Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT management or technical leadership roles. Strong technical expertise in network management, systems administration, and cloud computing (Azure). Certifications in IT management (ITIL, PMP), network/security (Fortinet, CompTIA Security+), or cloud technologies (Azure Administrator) are advantageous. Experience managing IT infrastructure in multi-site, global environment is a plus.
