IT Technical Support Engineer – Coatbridge

Main duties:

Customer facing 1st/2nd line support of Windows 10/11, Office365, OneDrive and SharePoint Refresh Laptops returning into Head Office. Assist the senior engineer in daily tasks. Routine site visits to core SPL offices and compounds to provide IT support and hardware management. This will require travel across Scotland and England and staying away from home two to three times a month or as required. Assist in and plan training, development and education for new software and hardware. Respond to and Troubleshoot helpdesk calls and resolve problems in a timely manner. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes. Maintain hardware and software inventory. Manage, maintain, and report asset management. Keep asset management database up to date, working with office managers and HR. Identify computer or network equipment shortages to Line Manager. Good working practices to ensure avoidance of Malware/Phishing attacks. Maintaining GDPR compliance and ensuring user compliance with IT Policies. Awareness and correct use of key escalation points for both PC hardware and software incidents and service provision. Good level of self-organisation and customer facing confidence. Good knowledge of computer software and hardware and a hands-on experience. Experience of installing and maintaining Windows operating systems. Ability to work directly with end users. Good organisation discipline. A good knowledge of the MS office suite, including OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint. Understanding of IP Subnets, DNS, Wireless networks. Good knowledge of Android phone/tablet management General administration. Ability to work to deadlines within a fast-paced environment. Full driving licence essential as role will require travel.
