As our IT Technician you will be: Serving as the first point of contact for onsite IT support within the Franklin and managing a cloud-based ticketing system. Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of the computer and network systems. Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues. Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components. Supporting staff whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices. Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly including the IT Asset Register. Escalating support requests to DI Service Desk/Head of IT where necessary. Supporting any other tasks as requested by the Head of IT. Selection criteria
Experience with Microsoft, Apple Mac and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration and support. Experience with computer and peripheral hardware servicing and basic repairs. An IT/Computing qualification (GCSE, BTEC, A-Level) would be advantageous but is not essential. Knowledge and understanding of standard office software packages. A good standard of written and oral communication. Willingness to learn and troubleshoot challenges. Ability to work effectively within a team environment, both taking direction from and supporting other colleagues. This is an onsite role so ideally you have either good public transport or your own vehicle.
