IT Volunteer Server Administrator (Volunteer) Friday 31 January 2025

Closing date: Friday 31 January 2025 Location: Remote Contract: Volunteer TNF are looking for a Server Administrator to assist with keeping our infrastructure up and running. We currently operate 3 web services: our main website (tnf.org.uk), TNF Soundings (tnfsoundings.org.uk) and MyTN which provides websites for our Members (anytown.mytn.uk). We also operate a Telephone Service (TalkPhone), a centrally managed TN Service (talkinfo.org.uk), Mailing Lists (TNTalk) and a remote Recording service (Studio in the Cloud). TNF Soundings provides free, high quality audio content for Talking Newspapers, Talking Magazines and Hospital & Community Radios to broadcast to people living with sight loss or other disabilities that make reading difficult. Whilst the front-end is powered by WordPress, there is a degree of custom PHP code in the back-end that provides additional functionality for this unique service. Working alongside the Technical Trustee, the Server Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Server Infrastructure, carrying out upgrades, etc. Required Qualities

Experience working with JSON Previous use of Vultr or other Public Cloud Providers Previous experience with S3 Storage Experience with Asterisk/FreePBX Experience with Mailing Lists Knowledge of Web Control Panels (cPanel, Plesk, etc) Knowledge of DNS Experience with CiviCRM WordPress Plugin Development Experience PHP Development Experience Commitment

This is a substantial role and requires at least some intervention on a regular basis (ideally every couple of days). It may be possible for two people to share parts of the role, but details of how that may work would need to be discussed on a case by case basis.
