About The Role As the Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response Lead for our 111 service, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust emergency planning and business continuity processes to ensure the service is prepared for any challenges that may arise. You will play a key role in leading the response to emergencies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both patients and staff, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain operational resilience. What you'll be doing EPRR is a statutory requirement and the responsibility for it is delegated from the Chief Executive Officer, who is the company's Emergency Accountable Officer. The postholder will act in delegate to ensure that IUC services meet its statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) and complies with all relevant emergency planning, resilience and response (EPRR) guidance for Health care services, including non-statutory guidance that accompanies the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and also for business continuity and resilience preparedness. Prepare, represent and communicate all elements of EPRR core standards, both internally and externally. Achieve a consistently high standard of compliance in the NHS core standards framework. Prepare the IUC service for all matters relating to EPRR, writing and updating national major incident plans, national business continuity plans, seasonal and other associated EPRR documentation commensurate with NHSE compliance. Advise and assist individual sites to set up local business continuity plans and ensure they are aware of their responsibilities – monitoring and reporting to IUC Director quarterly. Work with Regional Managers to ensure all levels of the command structure are trained, competent and practiced in incident management. Lead event response requirements through the strategic command group, providing subject matter expertise as required. Act as an advisor for IUC as required. Develop, deliver and maintain the IUC emergency preparedness and resilience function. Develop and contribute to professional relationships within the service, commissioners and other partner organisations that facilitate the continual development of EPRR arrangements. Lead the development and implementation of EPRR delivery plans. Ensure appropriate representation at local health resilience partnerships (LHRPs), and their associated sub-groups and work streams. Co-ordinate emergency preparedness and training exercises for the service and with resilience partners. Work with the communications department to ensure an appropriate media response to significant events and emergencies. Deliver annual training/exercising for staff at ALL levels around major incident, emergency preparedness and business continuity. What we’ll look for in you Management experience within a health care setting. Developing and maintaining policy and procedure documents. Working in a regulated environment. Writing plans that support delivery of service during critical pressures. Experience of multi-disciplinary team working. Preparing and presenting papers and presentations to Senior Management Teams. Designing, facilitating and delivering specialist training programmes. Knowledge or experience of having developed and delivered live and table top major incident exercises. Providing training and feedback.
