as a

Java Software Engineer

and work on an advanced desktop application that processes video data in dynamic and innovative ways. With hybrid working (2 days in Gloucester), you’ll be at the forefront of engineering solutions for the defence industry while building your skills in complex, high-performance software. Your Responsibilities Develop and enhance

desktop applications

with

Java ,

Kotlin , and

Jetpack Compose UI

for seamless video processing. Work on new features, including an

export system

and

in-memory caching

using

temporal resolution layers . Debug, test, and maintain software using

Cucumber

and

JUnit frameworks

to ensure reliability and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions for

video rendering

challenges. Support deployment processes using the

WIX Toolset

for Windows installations. Contribute to the evolution of high-security, defence-related software applications requiring precision and excellence. Qualifications

2–10 years’ experience

in software engineering. Proficiency in

Java

and

Kotlin , ideally for desktop development (Windows). Familiarity with

OpenGL

for graphical processing and rendering. Knowledge of

Gradle

build tools and

WIX Toolset

for Windows packaging. Strong background in

testing frameworks

like

Cucumber

and

JUnit . Security clearance eligibility

for defence-related projects. Additional Information
