Our client, a large government customer, is seeking a JIRA Developer to join their team. The role is hybrid, with remote working and a site based in Corsham. It is a part-time role where it’s expected you will work 50% of the month, with a minimum of 2 days/week on site when working. The role requires SC Clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Initial requirements are scheduled to run from early February 2025 until the end of March 2025 (approx. 20 days total part-time working). There is the potential to extend until the end of June 2025, and the rate offered is up to £550/day.

IR35 STATUS:

Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent the rate payable to the umbrella company.

The Role

As an experienced JIRA Developer, you will be creating and maintaining the technical setup and integrity of JIRA/JSM project boards and hierarchy. This role is exclusively technical and will focus on configuring, supporting, and optimizing JIRA and JIRA Service Management (JSM) systems to meet the needs of our growing programme management team. You will be expected to work with a Business Analyst who will handle requirements, allowing you to focus purely on technical implementation and enhancements.

Main Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and administer JIRA and JIRA Service Management (to support the Programme Front Door) systems.

Set up and manage a clear, scalable JIRA hierarchy to support programme and project requirements.

Ensure system integrity and consistency across all projects.

Design and optimise workflows, SLAs, and automation to improve system functionality and user efficiency.

Develop custom configurations, including scripts and advanced automation, to address technical requirements.

Implement and manage integrations between JIRA/JSM and other tools (e.g. Project Online or ARM).

Ensure seamless data flow and functionality across applications to support programme needs, including building automation.

Build and maintain advanced reporting and dashboards to provide stakeholders with accurate technical insights.

Ensure reporting solutions are robust and aligned with programme requirements.

Work with DDPT and Reporting lead to build in a timeline to incorporating JIRA Align to enable enterprise pipelines into JIRA data.

Provide technical support to align JIRA configurations with Agile practices, ensuring they meet the technical needs of the programme.

Collaborate with Agile teams to adapt JIRA settings as required for iterative workflows.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK; this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas cannot be accepted.
