Vacancy: Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location: Royston, UK (Onsite) Job Family: PGMS Salary: £41,181 + shift allowance £14,413 + lunch allowance £792.50 = £56,386.50 annually (+ bonus & benefits) As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will join an established Mechanical Team within our top tier COMAH site. This role requires an experienced Industrial Mechanically biased maintenance technician who is able to demonstrate and execute a wide range of practical Mechanical skills, ranging from basic workshop skills including fabrication of pipework, steelwork, and plastics to working out on plant in a methodical & logical manner such that reactive faults can be identified and repaired safely, alongside working proactively by working on Planned maintenance & Routines scheduled by our Maintenance planner. You will report directly to the maintenance Lead, this is a wide-ranging role which experience in Chemicals or large manufacturing would be advantageous, alongside a willingness to question and learn will be essential. Working Hours You will be required to work a 12-hour day shift pattern which includes weekends on a rotation of 5 days on followed by 4 days off in rotation. You may be asked to work outside of normal working hours during particularly busy periods such as the annual stocktake period in April/May, which also requires adherence to a Holiday restriction Whilst the Stocktake is being undertaken. Your responsibilities:

Responsible for the delivery of preventative/proactive maintenance of Mechanical systems and its sub or support systems Attending to any reactive/corrective maintenance that arises, Fault finding, completing any repairs/replacements/calibration or set-up Commissioning alongside operations on returning to service Knowledge and experience of site services, Gas, Compressed air, Steam, cooling water and how to deenergise and work on safely Reduce Plant downtime by proposing/implementing improvements Contribute to improving the site performance in all aspects of safe operation, regulatory compliance, productive output and cost efficiency by improving the engineering reliability of site equipment and ensuring appropriate maintenance frequency of assets is complied with

Requirements for the role: An industrial Mechanical -based qualification to HNC/ONC level or equivalent Time served Apprenticeship with a further 5 years' experience Previous Manufacturing/Chemical industry experience Experience of structured problem-solving techniques, fault diagnosis Ability to read and comprehend Mechanical Schematics & OEM Manuals, P&ID's CMMS experience for Work Order updates & aiding fault diagnosis, previous experience with SAP would be desirable

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is mainly shop floor based and will need to frequently visit all production areas both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical. Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25kg.
