Joint Retail Store Manager – Based Bristol Candidates must hold a UK driving licence. Basic salary up to £31,000 plus bonus and benefits. This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Store Manager and sales professional who can manage a retail team whilst monitoring the day-to-day running of the store. Any experience in the home improvements sector is desirable along with an interior design background. As the Joint Retail Store Manager, you will generate sales through retail and trade customers, concentrating on reaching sales targets and increasing profits whilst also managing stock control, merchandise, and staff training. You will be a natural salesperson, with a confident and outgoing personality and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, enthusiastic about the brand to create an unforgettable shopping experience for our customers. Experience of managing HR procedures such as appraisals, performance management etc. Interview and recruit new staff in conjunction with HR. Highly customer focused and competent in managing a small team. Able to manage sensitive and confidential matters. Excellent communication skills, face to face. Enthusiastic for change and new ideas. Well-presented, confident, articulate, highly numerate, and accurate. Be aware of health and safety legislation. Be approachable, friendly, and polite and able to delegate. Computer literate. Able to take instruction and capable of implementing decisions. Able to lift products. Duties

You will manage the costs, overheads, monthly sales margins and targets and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the store. You will manage, train, and develop new and existing staff members. Manage and improve staff to sell and customer service interaction with consumers to optimise and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Continuously develop knowledge and information about customer activity, pricing and tactics and communicate this to relevant departments. Maintain and develop trade relationships to drive sales. Complete the relevant paperwork/record data. Key holder, responsible for opening and closing the store. Manage cash, payment systems and banking. Monitor day-to-day procedures of the store. Attend meetings and contribute to the company’s strategy. Delegate tasks as appropriate. Proficiently dealing with customer complaints. Increase new sales through trade enterprises. Process sales and orders. Plan and implement POS, store merchandising, layout, and customer flow to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, appearance, image, and ergonomics for customers. Build and develop store displays. Manage security, health, and safety pertaining to staff and customer awareness. Ensure excellent standards of housekeeping is maintained together with the condition of all equipment, fixtures, and fittings within the shop. Competent and timely stocktaking/stock management. Continually learn about new products and ranges and train staff. Consult with purchasing department and identify product gaps. Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training as provided by the Company or elsewhere, subject to Company approval. Help Marketing track where footfall has heard of our store. Target increased sales by adding grout/adhesives and other accessories to tile sales. Target the sales of identified “Clearance” ranges. Control discounts given by the Retail Sales Team. Job Info
