Following the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office, we are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual who will work with a dynamic team to perform the following duties: Applying for Jordan’s Principle funding on behalf of clients. Requests for application may come from clients and applicable health care service providers, community organizations. Provide a collaborative, client-driven system to guide children and their families through a comprehensive array of services. Support a child and family-centered approach to coordinating and connecting services. Identify required services and supports that would benefit the child under Jordan’s Principle. Work towards establishing multi-disciplinary hubs for families when the services they require involve several professionals. Help families navigate the health and social systems in a timely manner. Assist with referrals for assessments to appropriate professionals, or provide assessment if within the scope of practice. Acquaint self with all Department of Indigenous Services Canada documentation related to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordan’s Principle. Act as a liaison and provide education and information sessions to agency staff in relation to Jordan’s Principle. Work in partnership with supervisor to ensure that all financial claims related to Jordan’s Principle are processed and managed according to policies and procedures. Participate in internal or external committees as required or requested. Liaise and work effectively with the communities served, service providers, collateral agencies and organizations, and elders. Uphold confidentiality and safe keeping of all documents and records. Develop and maintain work files that are accurate, up-to-date, and concise. The ability to build relationships with families and community service agencies to effectively understand unmet needs of children and youth. Support and encourage access to Jordan’s Principle for families. Develop and submit proposals as required. Other duties as required and assigned. Client file maintenance. This job requires collection and reporting of data to the ISC. Understanding of culture and holistic health models which support children. Case management experience. Required Qualifications
Experience with organizing and coordinating community meetings. Experience with Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Must be highly motivated, reliable, and committed. Effective oral and written communication skills. Upon acceptance of the position, a Criminal Record Check will be required. Assets
A degree or diploma in any discipline or Minimum 2 years experience in any administration field. Valid First Aid/CPR. Mental Health First Aid Certificate. Valid Driver’s License. Crisis Intervention Training: ASSIST Training, Safe Talk Training, Peer Support Counselling. Knowledge of both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous resources, services providers, groups, and programs that are in the district. Salary:
Negotiable based on experience.
