Salary : £28,000 - £33,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist who can produce across a number of programmes on BBC Radio Cumbria and BBC Radio Lancashire. We are looking for a creative producer who loves creating great radio. You’ll have an instinct for which subjects we should cover and the type of guests who can talk about these issues. You’ll be creative with a flair for innovation. The job will also involve studio production and could include live reporting and some newsreading. For the right candidate, this is a great chance to work on one of the BBC’s most listened to local stations, appealing to our current listeners and tempting new listeners to tune in. You’ll also have a good understanding and experience of creating strong digital content.

Main Responsibilities

This job will involve setting up and researching guests for interview, thinking of creative subjects and ways of covering them on radio as well as some studio production. You could also be asked to work elsewhere in the audio team as needed and there may be some reporting and news reading. You’ll also get what great social media content looks like and a great ear to know what will fly on BBC Sounds.
