Junior Category Planner

to support our Procurement team and drive our company's growth. This role offers the chance to study for a CIPS qualification alongside gaining valuable industry experience. As a Junior Category Planner, you will: Support the implementation of procurement strategies defined by the Head of Department (HOD). Forecast and manage stock orders to meet business demands. Assist in the implementation and optimisation of planning software. Support in contract lifecycle management, including drafting, negotiation, and execution. Help identify and implement best-value purchasing opportunities within assigned categories. Collaborate with suppliers to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of goods and services delivery. Support the tendering process, including document preparation, bid evaluation, and contract awards. Conduct regular supplier and contract reviews in line with strategic goals. Develop a strong understanding of core component categories, suppliers, and supply chains. Assist in indirect procurement projects and tenders. Who we are looking for: Experienced in both direct and indirect procurement, with a background in supply chain or procurement (manufacturing experience is a plus). Have a proven track record of delivering projects within budget. A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels. Analytical, with the ability to assess data, market trends, and risks. Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and compliance in contracts and audits. Adaptable, eager to learn, and ready to support changing priorities. Organised, able to prioritise effectively, and thrive under pressure.
