Job summary
The posts are full time, and the post holders will be expected to participate in the paediatric medical rota. This is an excellent opportunity within Paediatrics at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be working within the Paediatrics team. The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations, and teachings.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will join the Paediatric team, rotating between General Paediatrics and Neonates. The appointee will be on the level 1 rota, take part in ward rounds, reviewing patients referred to paediatrics and attend deliveries. Working patterns and timetables will be equivalent to those expected of the training grade SHOs. This includes normal day work, weekends, and nights.

Job responsibilities
Delivering care to Newborns in the Neonatal Services
Delivering care to the NICU/SCBU, Labour Ward and post-natal
Assessment of referred babies
The review of all babies as needed
Review of protocols as part of the team
The appointee will be expected to work flexible across the service as required, as and when service needs change
To take part in outpatient clinics under the supervision of the consultant Paediatricians
Reviewing Paediatric patients throughout their hospital stay
Helping run the Paediatric service

Qualifications
Essential
Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
Advanced Life Support Certificate or equivalent
Previous Experience
Essential
Experience of working in Paediatrics
Recognition of and ability to undertake the initial management of an acutely ill patient
Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems
Demonstrate aptitude for practical skills e.g., hand-eye co-ordination, dexterity, visuospatial awareness
Demonstrable interest in and comprehension of Paediatrics
