This is an exciting opportunity to join the NPD team of a well-established and innovative food business who produce beloved savoury products for the UK major retailers. They are seeking a switched-on Development Chef who can bring delicious new concepts to the shelves across the nation. The Role

You'll work as part of an inspiring team where you will be exposed to all aspects of new product development, supporting the creation of new recipe ideas and translating these into market-leading products with that real ‘wow’ factor.

You’ll assist the Senior Development Chef throughout the innovation process, undertaking key tasks such as sample making, sourcing ingredients, updating costing systems, and preparing customer briefs and presentations. In addition, you’ll ensure the smooth handover of products from kitchen to factory to guarantee projects reach their required deadlines.

You’ll also develop your culinary expertise and industry knowledge through keeping up with the latest food trends, using your skills to contribute to the development of new products whilst revitalising existing ranges to keep up with consumer tastes. The Person

We are looking for a highly creative and positive development chef who is passionate about their food. Brimming with enthusiasm and ideas you’ll be friendly and approachable with a real can-do attitude. You will have an extensive personal knowledge of ingredients and flavour combinations, able to bring new twists to recipes and a vast back-catalogue of interesting ingredient sources.

Adaptable and flexible you’ll be able to keep up the pace with projects as they evolve, accepting product tweaks and changes with gusto. Ideally, you will have food manufacturing experience where you will have developed successful products for either a food retailer or one of the major multiples, and you must be able to learn and develop new skills quickly.

Your organisation and presentation skills will be second to none; which you’ll put to use by working as part of a large team.

Please note this is a fully site-based role and a UK driving licence is essential. Contact
