Overview: Our client is a leading company specializing in trend-forward apparel with a focus on ladies, baby and kids' wear is seeking a Junior Fashion Designer. This role requires experience in licensed products and a passion for children’s fashion. The Junior Fashion Designer will contribute to creating innovative designs that bring beloved characters and themes to life while maintaining practicality and comfort. Key Responsibilities: Collaborating with the design team to develop creative, on-trend apparel collections for baby and kids, incorporating licensed characters and themes. Assisting in the design of seasonal ranges, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and market trends. Working closely with licensors to ensure all designs meet approval requirements and accurately reflect licensed properties. Creating detailed technical sketches, colorways, and design layouts for presentations and production handovers. Conducting market research to identify trends, fabrics, trims, and innovative design techniques suitable for the target demographic. Supporting material and embellishment selection, ensuring safety, comfort, and suitability for children. Developing mood boards, concept presentations, and storylines for each collection. Coordinating with product development and production teams to ensure design accuracy and quality. Managing design files, ensuring proper organization and version control. Qualifications: A degree in Fashion Design or a related field. 1-2 years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on licensed apparel and/or baby and kids' wear. A strong understanding of design principles, garment construction, and fabric selection for children’s clothing. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other design software. Familiarity with licensing requirements and the ability to interpret brand/style guides. Strong drawing and illustration skills, with excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards for children’s clothing is a plus. A passion for children’s fashion and a creative, trend-sensitive mindset.
