Seeking a proactive, approachable and hands-on Health and Safety Manager to support a small but complex, well-established production facility in Buxton. The company is fast-paced and passionate about what they do, looking for an agile, confident professional who can make safety digestible, engaging, and fun!

Overview of the role:

Manage and oversee the Health & Safety across the site, collaborating across departments, reporting to the Site Manager. Develop and implement health and safety plans, oversee risk assessments and safety inspections, produce and communicate health and safety guidelines, and train employees and management on compliance practices. Review and update existing policies, evaluating practices to ensure compliance with legal guidelines and preventative measures. Enhance health and safety culture, taking the company on a journey towards being more proactive and interdependent. Share best practices and offer support to the other sites in the organisation. Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.). Record, investigate accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement. Involvement with insurance for health and safety. Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, etc. Prepare health and safety reports and provide statistical information to Board/SMT. Manage H&S Budget. Future projects planned for 2025 include expansion of the site and adapting the layout of the site. Qualifications and Experience:

NEBOSH General Certificate (Essential). Fast-paced manufacturing/logistics background would be considered, ideally with food or beverage production. Prior management experience would be ideal, but this could also suit a more junior professional taking the step up with mentorship from an external organisation. Ideal Personality Traits:

Hands-on, approachable professional. Proactive, confident, and engaging in their approach. Someone who can lead the site, be a positive role model, and who can bring people on a cultural journey.
