Our LinkedIn following has surpassed 16,000, and we recently launched the Women in Open Banking community to support and spotlight women in the industry. Open Banking Expo has been recognised for its excellence, winning ‘Best Conference Series’ at the Conference Awards in both 2020 and 2023. The Role As the Junior Marketing Executive, you will play a key role in supporting the promotion of the OBE portfolio. Reporting to one of the co-founders, you will assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of marketing campaigns. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in marketing who is looking to develop their skills in a fast-paced events business. You will need excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow. Working collaboratively with the wider team, you will help implement marketing strategies, engage with our audience, and contribute to the success of our events. Responsibilities Support the creation and implementation of marketing plans for each event and the Women in Open Banking community, contributing to efforts to meet delegate and ticket revenue targets. Work closely with the Content Lead to ensure marketing communications align with the overall content plan. Help maintain and clean the OBExpo community marketing database by identifying data gaps and creating briefs to support data updates, ensuring quality and hygiene. Contribute to event marketing campaigns by assisting with the creation of copy and execution of marketing communications, including social media posts and email campaigns, ensuring adherence to house style and design expectations. Assist with producing engaging and creative content, such as videos and graphics, optimised for LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms, to support marketing activities across all events and the Women in Open Banking community. Assist with the identification and management of relevant industry event supporter and media partner relationships across each region to help extend the reach of marketing communications. Monitor and report on marketing metrics, including engagement, reach, and conversions, and support the production of post-event wrap-up reports to shape future event success. Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices in social media marketing, and proactively share insights with the team. Support the design process and production of digital and print collateral, including evening programmes, event guides, and event signage. Help manage data collection points to ensure data is correctly tagged and stored according to OBE’s data specification in Mailchimp and the CMS. Assist in producing media packs and sales support campaigns to support the commercial partnerships team. Attend events and assist with on-site logistics, including managing registration, helping delegates and sponsors, and ensuring smooth event operations. Skills and Experience Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write engaging marketing copy. Basic understanding of digital marketing tools, including email marketing (MailChimp), social media platforms, design software (Canva, Adobe) and website management (WordPress). Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 1–2 years of experience in marketing, ideally within events, media, or a related industry. Experience with design software (e.g. Canva, Adobe) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics). Interest in the financial services or tech industries is a bonus.
