ABOUT THE ROLE The Accessories, Hand tools, and Storage department is responsible for the end-to-end product development and growth for Ryobi product categories across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with global collaboration in the USA and ANZ. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, this position will take ownership in managing the New Product Development (NPD) and categories within Power Tool Accessories which will drive growth through the sales regions within the territory. We are growing and we have exciting plans. This is an exciting opportunity to innovate and contribute towards new product categories in Europe. To achieve this successfully, you will develop an intimate understanding of the end user and market through your daily activities. You will be a hands-on individual, self-starter; having some DIY experience is a plus for this role. As Jr. Product Manager (Jr. PM) you will work closely with different European teams, ensuring all commercial and competitive factors around power tool accessories are understood and addressed, which is a key activity to our success. A day as PM will include competitive benchmarks, landscaping markets across different countries, product testing, and building compelling presentations. Market research and end-user research is the fuel to kick off our NPDs and to gain market knowledge to become an expert on your products. You will be actively involved in the end-to-end product development process, working constantly with engineering teams, different teams in China, and the global teams, as well as the EMEA teams such as finance, Supply Chain, Brand, Sales & Customer service. Supporting the commercialization, including product launch of the individual product/ranges, as well as the implementation of the broader strategy, is a critical component of the role. This entails close alignment with the brand team. Main Responsibilities: Research: Build a competitive benchmark per product/category. Landscaping and market profiling to allow a clear understanding of product & category trends across Europe to identify opportunities. Early-stage end-user research to identify needs to contribute towards the confirmation of product requirements. Product testing. Development: Defining product propositions ensuring market fit and commercial success. Create clear, compelling presentations for the different stages during the NPD. Work closely with different business units in Asia (engineering, product design, purchasing team) through NPD ensuring clear communication. Work closely with Quality Team and Engineering Team to ensure products are European/Region compliant. Ensure the product truly delivers against the pre-identified metrics. These include but are not limited to features, benefits, performance, industrial design, quality, product testing, cost, and schedules. Launch: Deliver internal teams with product training and customer presentations/training. Deliver planning of product launches through the business, with emphasis on achieving schedules and product availability. Product detail such as manuals, packaging, online, etc. Pan-European price positioning. Phase in/phase out planning. And communication of the above through the organization. Drive the creation of all collateral and product launch kit needed to ensure a commercially successful launch in close cooperation with the brand team. WHAT YOU’LL NEED: Do you consider yourself a hands-on person? Are you always looking for ways to improve things around you? Would you describe yourself as a self-starter and self-motivated person? Do you have experience using power tool accessories? If the answer is yes, please read carefully and apply. Bachelor’s degree (in Marketing, Business, or related), but not essential. A highly motivated self-starter team player, with analytical and critical thinking. 2 years previous experience in product management and/or sales & marketing is a plus. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to build relationships across multidisciplinary teams. A practical hands-on disposition with clear communication skills, both verbal & written. Good presentation skills. Experience presenting to groups of people with a confident and engaging delivery. Willingness to undertake travel in the region when needed. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
