An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the nursing team on Padarn Ward, Glangwili General Hospital. Padarn Ward is a 19 bedded ward specialising in respiratory medicine. Padarn ward is the respiratory pathway for Hywel Dda University Health Board and supports patients suffering from acute and chronic respiratory conditions. We provide interventions such as non invasive ventilation (NIV), high flow oxygen therapy as well as other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The successful applicant would be required to work towards gaining competencies in NIV and high flow oxygen therapy as well as pleural competencies. This is a rewarding role that requires excellent communication skills. You will be joining a friendly and innovative multidisciplinary team, where you will receive a personal induction plan, with ongoing support tailored to meet your individual needs. The post holder will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff whilst delivering a high standard of care for our patients. You will be expected to work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team, including the Senior Nursing and Management team to help shape future service developments. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. About us

Qualifications and Knowledge

Registered Nurse (Part 1) Pertinent postgraduate diploma (or equivalent development/experience and a willingness to undertake appropriate post graduate diploma level study) Current NMC registration Recognised management qualification Experience

Appropriate experience within specialty and able to demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant specialty Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of NMC Code (2015) Experience of working in a multi professional environment Experience of running a ward/area/department Experience of working with pre-reg nursing/midwifery students Experience of formal/informal teaching and of mentoring pre-registration nursing or midwifery students. Understanding of wider nursing and health care related agenda Supervisory management skills Able to relate theory into practice through reflective skills Experience of co-ordinating a team Experience of facilitating learning in and from practice Previous experience of leadership and management Awareness of current issues in nursing and specialty Awareness of financial and resource management Language Skills
