The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, offers an exciting and supportive environment for ambitious professionals who want to work at the top of their game! We are looking for an experienced nurse to join our dynamic team as a Band 6 Sister. In this role, you will lead and deliver high-quality care to patients, guiding and mentoring junior staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource management, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Main duties of the job

To work in all areas of the department as required, in line with need and own scope of competence. To demonstrate specialist patient care expertise underpinned by theory and incorporating evidence-based practice. To maintain accountability and demonstrate skills in undertaking assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients without supervision. To take responsibility for the accurate assimilation, interpretation, and reporting of clinical data in relation to patients and take appropriate action. To review and modify planned interventions in response to the needs of patient care and acting independently where appropriate and seeking advice where required. To order appropriate diagnostic investigations, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, to assist in managing episodes of care. To prioritise own work and that of others to ensure the department is managed effectively. To ensure the provision and correct utilisation of specialist equipment for use in patient care. To promote standards of care, and in conjunction with senior colleagues develop these, incorporating current professional recommendations and evidence-based pathways. To promote a multidisciplinary approach to care, recognising, utilising, and valuing the expertise of other disciplines. To act as a positive role model and resource for health professionals. To provide leadership for the nursing team to ensure a high standard of patient care, providing support and supervision as required. About us

Clinical skills and experience

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload and workload of others. Effective use of research and implementation of evidence-based practice. Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Experience of delivering presentations. Qualifications and training

Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience. Registered Nurse, Intravenous accreditation, Prep for Mentorship course or equivalent. Degree (BSc) or equivalent in a health-related subject, or working towards. Experience of contributing to research and audit programmes. Governance

Understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment. Clear understanding of safeguarding procedures. Other requirements
