Junior Web Developer

·
Full time
Location: Middlesbrough
·
Job offered by: Embeddable Limited
·
Category: IT & Technology
Salary: up-to £30,000 • Location: Middlesbrough (Hybrid)

The role:

develop your skills, develop solutions.

We’re

Embeddable . We specialise in helping people and businesses to explore their ideas and bring them to life by building technology. As a junior web developer, you’ll join our business at an exciting time as we move into new premises and begin substantial new projects. Importantly for this role, we don’t expect you to have years of experience, or to have had the opportunity to work on countless projects in the past. We believe that at an early stage in your career, a blend of learning through being involved in projects, as well as having time to carry out your own training is key. You’ll work closely with (not under) experienced team members on a range of projects, take part in early-stage idea discussions with clients alongside our team, and hone your craft as a “full-stack” web developer. Our business is a blend of consultancy and development. We work closely with clients from the early stages of an idea, so being comfortable communicating with customers and partners in-person, over video and phone calls, and via email is key. We’re looking for someone keen to enter into, or progress in, the industry and solve problems by building tech. Someone who’s not afraid to ask questions and, as you grow, challenge people’s way of thinking by applying your technical knowledge. It’s only by doing so that we’re able to build the best solutions for our clients. The tech:

what you’ll learn and work with.

We believe in using the right tools for the job, and that can mean using different technologies for different projects. We don’t expect you to have experience of all of them – this is a list of some of the languages and products that we regularly use: PHP

(we predominantly use the

Laravel

framework) SQL Databases (namely MySQL) Amazon Web Services Package Managers (namely Composer and NPM) GitHub (for code management) Sentry (for managing bugs and alerts) Linear (for managing tasks and product roadmaps) We’ll provide you with:

Personal training budget of £1,000 per year Reserved time to commit to your own training and CPD 25 days of annual leave per year, plus Bank Holidays Hybrid working (2-3 days per week in office) Fortnightly 1:1s Two salary reviews in your first year, then annually Attend events and contribute to events across the UK Plus a private pension, regular socials, and more… Our hiring process:

how we’ll embed you into our team.

Let us know who you are!

We’d love to hear from you. Lets get the ball rolling by completing the application form below. Tell us about yourself, your passions outside of work and what makes you think Embeddable might be a place that you’d like to work at. Informal call or in-person meeting

No pressure, honest. Our first step is to have an informal, brief call or in-person introduction to get to know you, any experience you have and what you’re looking for. It’s also a great chance for us to tell you a little more about what we’re doing and answer any questions you might have. Interview

Don’t worry! There won’t be any trick questions or technical tests for this role. We try to keep interviews as laid back as possible, so it’ll feel like a continuation of the informal call or meeting we had previously. We’ll mainly focus on your experience and how you’d make this role your own, if you were to join us. We’ll make an offer or feedback

Nobody likes being left in the dark. We’ll aim to give you interview feedback within a week of your interview. If we feel like you’re the right fit for our team, then we’ll also include an offer and hope that you accept! Onboarding into the team

If you’ve decided to join us, your first few weeks will be focused on getting to know our team, our clients and their ideas that we’re exploring together and bringing to life. Our focus is on building familiarity with how we work – you won’t be thrown in at the deep end on day one! Technology:

embeddable into your business.

We help businesses to turn their technology ideas into solutions through embedding knowledge and expertise, and it all starts with a conversation. Flok, 20-26 Albert Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 1PR Embeddable Limited
