This is an exciting opportunity to join our developing early intervention services. You will work with women within the criminal justice system, undertaking a range of assessments and interventions with justice service users as an alternative to remand, diverted from prosecution, subject to community interventions, or on release from short sentences.

You will case manage women subject to Structured Deferred Sentences and Diversion, supervise bail conditions, encourage voluntary involvement with those released from short sentences, and support social workers in their work with statutory service users. This will include all offence types, including sexual and violent offences.

It is essential that you have a commitment to social work values and an HNC or SVQ in criminal justice, social care or relevant qualification. Knowledge and experience of working in a social work setting, co-working and multi-agency working are required, and effective assessment, communication, report writing, and IT skills are also essential.

Although based in Paisley, the ability to travel throughout Renfrewshire is also essential, with a driving license desirable. Ability to work flexibly as there could be evening and weekend work as required is essential.

Experience of working with justice service users in custody and the community, experience of working with clients who have addiction, housing, and employability issues, and experience of writing reports for court is desirable.

This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1) therefore only female applicants will be considered.
