Kingston Rowing Club is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated coach to lead our successful junior sculling programme, creating an aspiring and enjoyable system that enables KRC’s junior athletes to achieve success and enjoyment in the sport of rowing. Key Responsibilities

To lead the junior rowing programme, including developing and running a structured and inclusive rowing programme that develops KRC’s athletes to achieve success and enjoyment in the sport of rowing; Set up and run training sessions (both land and water); Responsibility for pastoral care of junior athletes within the rowing programme and effectively liaising and communicating with parents and guardians; Attend head races and regattas and other relevant rowing events (such as indoor rowing events, national trials, GB Rowing training camps), this may include arranging transportation of equipment to such events; Liaising with GB Rowing when an athlete is trialling and/or selected to represent GB; Arranging an annual training camp if the junior coaches and club officers consider it beneficial and viable for athletes; Manage, mentor, and work with other coaching staff. Other Duties

Undertake basic equipment repairs, as required, and reporting any damage to equipment in accordance with club procedures; Organise regatta and trials entries, club and rower registrations via British Rowing. Qualifications/Key Skills

Commitment to the paramount importance of the safeguarding and well-being of junior athletes; Proven understanding of health and safety issues associated with rowing and juniors; Experience of coaching junior athletes at all levels; British Rowing Level 2 coaching award or above (or equivalent national governing body coaching qualification); Excellent organisational skills; Ability to communicate effectively and politely with junior athletes, parents, members of the KRC Committee and coaching staff, other members of the club, and the public; Commitment to adhering to the letter and spirit of British Rowing Codes, Regulations, Rules and Policies and those of KRC, including creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.
