We currently working with one of North London’s leading multi academy trusts, they require a dedicated and skilled kitchen supervisor to manage the daily operations of their school kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and presentation.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, a passion for quality service, and the ability to work collaboratively with both staff and students. You will be responsible for creating a positive working environment and ensuring the delivery of nutritious and appealing meals.

Duties will include:

  • Develop and progress the catering provision to deliver healthy and high-quality meals that meet the National Nutritional Standards.
  • Supervising catering arrangements for special functions within the Academy.
  • Ensure that staff are working to correct product and service specifications and that food is delivered in line with appropriate timeframes.
  • Be responsible for the accurate costs control of catering revenue and expenditure and the security of all monies.
  • Ensure that delivery notes are checked against requisitions and any identified discrepancies are reported immediately to the supplier.
  • Ensure adherence to all procedures related to Health and Safety and COSHH regulations with regard to good, equipment, materials and general safety.
  • Responsible for planning, cooking of meals, portion control, amendment of menus (where appropriate), and provision of special diets (where advised).
  • Supervise, direct and induct all kitchen staff in the methods of production, service and standards required in a nominated School Meals Catering Outlet, including organisation of work rotas.
  • Promote and maintain good relationships with all customers - Head Teachers, parents, pupils and midday assistants, to ensure the quality and adequacy of the service are maintained within the established policies. Ensure that the published menu is adhered to at all times to satisfy customer demand.
