An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant! Step Teachers are working with a Primary School in Barnet to recruit a KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils from Year 6.

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide one-on-one and small group support to students. You will help ensure students stay engaged, focused, and supported in their learning while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities of a KS2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Support students with varying abilities and learning needs, including those with special educational needs.
  • Act as a positive role model for students, promoting appropriate behaviour and social skills.

Requirements of a KS2 Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience working as a KS2 Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities are crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with staff and students.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is desirable but not essential.
