We are seeking a dedicated and experienced KS3 & KS4 English Teacher to join a committed team. This part-time position requires the successful candidate to work 16 hours per week, with a 39-week contract, of which 34 weeks involve direct teaching. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Delivering engaging and effective English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students in line with the school's curriculum and national standards. Developing lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning, critical thinking, and student participation. Assessing and evaluating student progress through assignments, exams, and other assessment methods. Providing constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential. Collaborating with other members of the English department to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment practices. Attending department meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data. Communicating with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress as needed. Supporting the school's policies and ethos, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification. Experience teaching English at the KS3 and KS4 levels. Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and exam requirements for English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in their studies. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning. Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months. Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
