Summary job description: The Apprentice Business Analyst will report to the Systems Engineering Manager and will be responsible for supporting the team’s efforts in providing requirements analysis to support product development for customer and R&D projects. Job Description: Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of: Requirement Elicitation: Support the elicitation and documentation of requirements for new software features and processes, working with other requirements engineers and internal and external stakeholders. Document software requirements for use by software developers and testers that capture all customer needs. Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation/artefacts, including business requirements, specifications, process diagrams, and user stories. Collaborate with software developers and testers and other stakeholders to support product development. Requirement Gathering: Work with stakeholders to identify, document, and validate business requirements, ensuring they align with business objectives. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with various stakeholders, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), technical teams, trainers, and end-users, to understand their needs. Assist in the maintenance of the software requirements baseline. Qualifications: 5 GCSEs with equivalent of A*/A/B in English & Maths. Qualifications in Business/Data Analysis or similar are not essential but an appreciation of software development methods would be beneficial. Skills Required & Personal qualities: Analytical and Critical Thinking skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, assessing and analysing data, processes and requirements. Communication and Interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate concisely with stakeholders regarding requirements. Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy in requirements gathering and documentation. Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Technical skills: PC literacy and familiarity with MS Office (primarily Word and Excel). Knowledge in aviation or air traffic control is not essential. Future prospects: The role offers a permanent position upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance. Other Information: Free parking on site. The train station is a 4-minute walk and we are on all major bus routes. Training to be provided: Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry-experienced training team. Throughout the apprenticeship, learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team. Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Business Analyst, with training in how to: Investigate the wants, needs, problems and opportunities for your business. Analyse the performance of your processes and suggest recommendations for improvement. Identify your data requirements to improve your business. Create data models to illustrate how your data is represented within your business systems. Assess costs, benefits and impacts of suggested changes to your business.
