Role Summary:

Estio Training has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Developer Apprentice with Libresoft, a Software Company based in Winchester.

Job Description:

The role involves working as part of a small office-based team supporting Primary and Secondary Schools with the Library Management System that we have developed. You will primarily be assisting with the troubleshooting and resolution of bugs within our Library system. You will also be involved in the testing and bug resolution for other products that we have in development.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot, resolve and respond to bug reports.

Provide support to our customers on occasion.

Testing new releases of the system and other products.

Assist with product documentation.

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent, including English Language and Maths.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of programming languages, ideally PHP/Javascript; Symphony/React/React Native would also be beneficial, though not essential if the candidate has good knowledge of another equivalent programming language. A passion for coding, demonstrated through education and personal projects, is preferred.

Some customer service experience would be good, but not required.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Developer, with training in how to:

Create logical and maintainable codes for software development.

Apply security best practices throughout the software development life cycle.

Apply appropriate recovery techniques to ensure the software solution being developed is not lost.

Implement accurate and effective change control.

Undertake unit testing of solutions, with appropriate levels of test code coverage, to identify and resolve issues.

Apply suitable ‘bug fixes’ based on severity and priority.
