In this role, you will: Weigh patients and ensure proper labeling of collected samples. Ensure knowledge of collection tubes and proper labeling of collected samples. Run CBCs (Complete Blood Counts) to ensure timely patient treatment. Perform venipuncture, urine dipsticks, stool testing, and run tests for Strep, Flu, COVID, and RSV. Make blood smears upon provider request and assist in troubleshooting any issues. Ensure accurate quality control procedures are followed prior to patient testing. Operate centrifuges and perform maintenance as required. Pour plasma/serum into transfer tubes, and prepare specimens for various conditions (room temperature, frozen, refrigerated, warm, light-sensitive). Handle specimens according to established protocols for in-house and send-out testing. Operate CBC analyzers (XN430/50, XS1000i/c, Poch 100i) and document daily startup and shutdown. Run, monitor, and troubleshoot quality controls and report any critical values to providers. Perform and document all routine maintenance, including monthly rinses. Identify and process orders efficiently in LIS (Laboratory Information System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems. Perform glucose monitoring, fecal occult blood tests, PT/INR tests, and urine pregnancy tests (OSOM). Operate and maintain the Siemens Clinitek Status Urinalysis Analyzer. Log into Labdaq, maintain requisitions, and create and adjust patient profiles. Enter rapid order test codes, verify CBCs, and rerun critical results, documenting accordingly. Ensure that orders are properly sent to reference labs, such as Labcorp and Quest. We require: Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma. At least 1 year of experience. Reliable transportation. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred. Experience with phlebotomy and laboratory procedures. Proficient in LIS/EMR systems, including LABDAQ. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and training skills. Adaptability to changes in responsibilities and office environments.
