We are working with an award-winning employer to find a Lab Technician in the Witham area to join their team. As part of the role, you will be working within the science and research industry as a Laboratory Supervisor to ensure that good housekeeping and a clean, safe working environment are maintained throughout the lab.

The role consists of working a rotating shift pattern of 6am-1pm & 1pm-8pm, alternating weekly.

Please note you must be a car driver and have access to your own car.

Duties

Develop good laboratory weighing techniques. Assist the team to measure and weigh samples with high accuracy and within relevant time frames. Report any failures or deviations to methods, systems, and procedures. Ensure that work is carried out in conformance with instructions, established methods, and quality standards. Gain an understanding and build knowledge of the material types being analysed and their relevant sample preparation requirements. Act as a porter to other units on the estate, carrying samples and glassware using the company van. Understand the importance of quality and the quality systems UKAS ISO 17025 and ISO 9001:2000 used within the laboratory. Ensure that equipment is efficiently and effectively used, maintained, and cleaned.

All duties are to be carried out in accordance with Company and HS & E policies along with the Company's accreditation and quality systems, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and 17025.

Minimum Requirements

Computer literate. The ability to work as part of a team. Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality. Ability to communicate with Company personnel at all levels. Ability to prepare and weigh with speed and accuracy, and have good attention to detail. Ability to work in an organised and disciplined manner.
